I’ve been a guest on The Gambling Files a couple of times – I’ve only cried once and been mildly offended by the guys four times. Solid recommend

Tim Smeets

A great mix of entertaining nonsense and high quality interviews with gaming professionals. I’ve recommended the pod to a lot of colleagues over time. Also a perfectly average head of hair between the two of you.

Adam Davis

XGenia

Top content, with some serious misbehaviour.

Toby Bonney

iGaming CRM specialist

The go to iGaming podcast. Great guests, random off-topic side steps and a strange obsession with Cobra Kai. Whatever the conversation though, knowledgeable discussion throughout. Highly recommended.

In a world full of mediocre gambling podcasts, The Gambling Files is slightly better. All joking aside: Fintan and Jon have great chemistry, sharp insights into the biggest developments in the industry, and an uncanny ability to veer off into entertaining tangents without ever losing the thread entirely. A must-listen for anyone in or around the gambling space.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jon for a long time so when he launched the podcast with Fintan, I knew it would be a hit. My clients that have joined the pod have loved it and the benefits it’s brought. Blends the perfect balance between insightful content, humour and random cultural nuggets.

I’ve been working to try and prevent gambling harm for … um .. years, and have had a lot of ‘good for you’ fluffy support. Jon and Fintan, on the other hand, because they understand gambling and gamblers, also understand that harm prevention isn’t as simple as stuffing a ‘play responsibly’ message on a website. They’ve always been generous with their air time for me to explain the latest thinking. I appreciate their thoughtful approach and heartily recommend everyone to have a listen to what’s up next on TGF.

More “I can’t believe he just said that” moments between co-hosts than any other show. And some gambling stuff.

Rosalind Wade

Don’t let the irreverant approach and plentiful humour of The Gambling Files Podcast fool you – serious topics are addressed by serious people (not Jon and Fintan, obviously), and it’s a treasure-trove of information. Completely unique and totally worth it

Infrequently Asked Questions

A collection of the oddly specific, rarely spoken, yet somehow important questions.

It started life as a podcast and has grown to become several things, most of which are unique in the gambling industry. The original podcast has been running for well over 200 episodes and still goes out weekly; we have now added TGF Presents: Dessert Island Discs, where industry execs and thought leaders talk about their lives within the format of being stranded on a tropical island. We will also soon be adding another podcast, and have launched the Gambling Book Awards (www.gamblingbookawards.com).

The main podcast episode is available via your favourite podcast outlet, or you can find the latest episodes here. If it’s not available where you usually find your podcasts, please let us know and we will get right on to fixing that.
Fairly recently we also started a YouTube channel but because our guests get to choose whether we record audio or video, not every episode ends up there.

The main podcast ‘The Gambling Files’ lands weekly on a Thursday; Dessert Island Discs will be landing weekly on a Tuesday, and the new launch will be bi-weekly starting from the end of September 2025, dropping on a Wednesday.

It’s our sexy new-ish launch, where guests get to choose what items keep them company while they’re stranded on a tropical island. The questions are designed to get people talking about their lives and their journey up to this point, and to think about what’s important to them.
They get to choose:
3 albums
3 books
3 movies
1 song (not on the albums)
1 pet, from any time in their lives
1 object
1 dessert
…and 2 pieces of advice: one from their younger self to their older self, and one from older to younger – and they get to choose when the advice is received.
Guests tend to be C-suite and/or ‘thought leaders’ in the industry. If you think you know someone that would make a good guest, please email us and we will see what we can do…

Well, we can’t say much but… It’s very different to everything else we have done so far. We think it will be of particular interest to people working in RG, compliance, regulation and many, many more. Watch this space.
