To keep you from making the same mistake that most beginners make, it would be wiser for you to make slow plays. Although you might pick up strong hands, you can never tell what the flop and turn will reveal. So keep yourself from becoming aggressive and try your best to make under-bets.
When the flop and turn reveals that you only have a small chance to take the pot with your potentially strong hand, do not give up just yet. You might still see some good news at the river. So try to stick with your slow playing and you might just reap your rewards as the river is revealed.
