A game of skill is a game where the outcome is usually determined by mental and / or physical skill, as opposed to pure chance or luck.
I was recently doing some research as I wanted to add a program to our site Learn Ingenio betting information and on the road, I discovered the attraction of these games.
Not only the players relish the challenge and the variety of gaming options and types, but also the mention of the ladies, dominoes, hangman puzzles and brings childhood memories. Most of us then graduated from rummy, backgammon, chess, scrabble and the ultimate challenge.
While skill games that will never replace the casino gaming online or off the popularity, is a universal theme with a multitude of Internet sites offer service connection or tournaments.
I classify 7 types of games of skill as follows: card, board, dice, tiles, Word, puzzles and games Sports.
As skill gaming is such a broad topic and may not be covered in one article, I will present examples of each type of game and give a brief description and / or the history of each.
1) Card games: using a deck of cards as a fundamental tool. Examples are Rummy, Bridge and Canasta. Rummy has many "cousins" or versions. To name a few, are famous the world, along with Gin Rummy Oklahoma Gin, Knock Rummy, Continental, 500 Rum or Pinochle, Kalooki and Pan or Panguingue.
2) Board Games: keep turn-based strategy game that / move a player is followed by movement of their opponents or strategy. The Players may only move in turn. Examples include chess, checkers and backgammon.
The origins of these games go back centuries. The chess became so popular that other games ranked second in the Middle Ages. Not sure if chess was invented by one or more persons, but the war was a probable reason for its development.
Ladies are believed to have originated in the desert region of Egypt, where he was known as Alquerque around 650 BC, although there caves in 1400 BC C. representing Alquerque as images.
The game was played by the philosophers and thinkers such as Plato and Homer, as always huge mental challenge.
3) Given: Using a number of dice as its central tool. Board games often use dice to determine the position of a player in the game, however, just say generally do not determine the outcome of the game in conjunction with other features, such as strategy or skill. Examples include Sic Bo, Yahtzee and Poker Dice.
Poker Dice is one of the most famous game of dice, especially online. The dice display replicas of the letters instead of numbers. Each of the six sides represent Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and nine that are used to form a poker hand. The object of the game is make the best poker hand.
4) Domino / Tile Games: use a central tool of a set of domino tiles that have drawn the two ends, each with a specific number of points or pips. Therefore, each combination has 2 possible values, and each piece is unique in the set. Most Domino / tile games are "games of cards without the cards. Examples are Domino Pai Gow Poker and Mahjong.
Who invented the game of Mahjong? In all likelihood, this game was designed by Confucius, who traveled in China during that time. He liked the birds – maybe that's why the game was named Mahjong, which denotes a sparrow. Maybe 3 professed Confucian cardinal virtues were represented through three boxes of dragon – red, green and white.
5) Word games: many puns, so little time. A brief list of examples is Scrabble, Hangman, cryptograms, Jotto, Jumble, acrophobia, and Wheel of Fortune.
6) Puzzle Games: I am baffled these examples, Sudoku, crosswords, the oh, so frustrating – Rubik's Cube with a group so cool online puzzles – Bejeweled, Deal or No Deal, Chuggles and Jungle Bubble.
7) Sports: combining physical skills and mentally. Examples are snooker and darts. Physical and mental abilities Sports football, rugby, basketball and football require 'big time'.
During this short trip through memory lane, I'm sure you also have discovered the appeal of games of skill. Now, how about a game rummy?
