Tebow has every tool to play QB except for an bad throwing motion, why do so many think he has no chance?
Many players with bad throwing motions have had sucess in the NFL. Kosar, Gannon, Rivers to name a few. Now not saying Tebow is sure fire, but give the dude a chance before u rip him. He has had nothing but success at every level despite optimism, so maybe this will be the same. And even if he only has a chance to be good is that any different than anyother player taken from 10 -32. Go back and look at the success of players with these picks, even the top ten. Probally under 50 percent are good, so 25 doesn’t seem like that big of a gamble on a player that could with work be potentially good. Not saying I love the pick but not as big a gamble as everyone makes it out to be.
There’s a difference between a weird or awkward throwing motion like Phillip Rivers and Vince Young and a straight up long one like Tim Tebow or Byron Leftwich.
Also, he doesn’t have “every tool to play QB.” Besides his mechanics his biggest issue is the fact that Urban Meyer’s offensive scheme is so different from what NFL coaches run that he will have to get used to going through progressions, making reads and not having the same wide open passing lanes he was afforded at Florida.
His arm strength and accuracy also aren’t anything special. His arm strength isn’t bad and his deep ball is actually pretty decent, but he has terrible zip and velocity on his short-intermediate passes, and that was with his Roger Clemens windup, so logic dictates that his new, shorter throwing motion will cost him in that department. His accuracy also isn’t great, and try to look at more than his completion percentage when evaluating that. Watch his tape (try ESPN360 where you can watch a full game, not just a Youtube highlight reel) and you’ll see that most of his completions were to open receivers and plenty of the time you’ll see his receivers having to adjust to a poorly thrown ball. Very rarely did he complete a legit NFL pass, like a 20+ yard out route or fitting a pass into a tight window downfield.
I’m not trying to “hate” on him, I just call it how I see it, and I don’t see an NFL QB. That being said, if anybody could make an NFL career out of mediocre physical tools and without experience in anything remotely close to an NFL offense its Tim Tebow.

Definitive Reasons Why People Gamble
If you said greed, weakness or stupidity then you’re wrong. Reasons why people gamble vary from person to person. There is no doubt gambling has picked up in popularity because of the internet so the three reasons why people gamble have to take into account the online aspect.
Gambling doesn’t just include poker. Don’t forget sports. Various theories exist on reasons why people gamble, here are my three.
RECREATION
In general people love to gamble as a crowd. Think bingo, casinos, horse racing and greyhounds.
The internet hasn’t eroded the sense of togetherness that comes from a friendly gathering around the poker table. In fact people play far more in person, at pubs, clubs and casinos than they ever did. The main thing to remember when talking about reasons why people gamble is to take into account the fun element, the socialising. Most people are not in it to win it and that’s what separates the pros from the rest and that’s what makes casinos and bookmakers rich.
CHALLENGE
People like the challenge of gambling, the ability to display their knowledge and to beat an opponent. Some people take winning and losing personally. Of course for others it is the challenge of winning money from a bookmaker that spurs them on and not personal duels.
The reasons why people gamble when it comes to poker is obvious. The challenge of beating your opponent. For other gamblers, especially sports gamblers, you’re up against the bookmaker, another formidable opponent. In many ways the pro gamblers see winning as being far more important than the money.
SKILL
Aside from bingo there is an element of skill in poker and sports betting. If that wasn’t the case then a chimp could pick winners out of a hat with the same regularity as any gambler. The sad thing is, especially when it comes to sports gambling, the chimp probably would do a darn sight better than most.
It must be a skill because some gamblers win over 90% of the time. If it were down to luck the ratios between gamblers that win and lose wouldn’t be so vast. Some sports bettors report a 90% success rate and others report less than 50%. Just as in poker some players have more skill; it is the same in sports betting.

2009 Saints off-season moves?
Draft Taylor Mays, S, USC
Sign Brandon Jacobs during free agency if Giants don’t resign him.
Sign either Nnamdi Asoumgha, Chris Gamble, or Corey Webster during free agency.
Sign Bart Scott or Terrell Suggs during free agency.
Sign Jordan Gross during free agency.
Sign Dawan Landry during free agency.
Resign Lance Moore, Jonathan Vilma, Jon Stinchcomb and Jahri Evans.
If that happened the Saints would have a 2-headed monster running game (Jacobs and Thomas) and that would take some of the pressure off of Drew Brees and also allow Reggie Bush to permanently move to slot receiver. Also the Saints defense would instantly be in the top 10 in the NFL. They would also instantly be the pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Also if that happened then I predict them to go 14-2 or 13-3 in 2009.
So many things wrong.
1) Taylor Mays is going to go top 10. The Saints will not have a top 10 pick.
2) Brandon Jacobs will resign with the Giants.
3) Asomugha is going to get franchised, Gamble sucks and Webster has already resigned.
4) Scott is going to resign with the Ravens. Suggs is going to have a lot of interest, so it’s no guarantee he would want to even go to New Orleans (he’s from the West Coast)
5) Carolina will not let Gross go.
6) Dawan Landry? Ok good sign.
