Does anyone have an addiction or compulsion?
I have come to terms with my addiction to gambling … most lottery tickets (out of nothing, draw games). It has been months in creation, and I had no idea what I was getting into. I took a good look at my finances, and am in the point of no return! I've been looking for the right counselor, and found through my work that offers the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). I found articles Internet, and all my symptoms and actions diagnosed as a mental disorder, pathological gambling, I can deal with the difficulty of improving, but my main problem is how I have kept secret from my husband, friends and family members. That was one of the key factors of my illness. I am taking the first step toward getting help …. but how can I communicate to my husband from the mountain of debt we are? I am ready to end our marriage, if it comes to that. But honestly, I feel my wife is favorable for help to recover, and we should start again (most likely to file bankruptsy).
Unfortunately you've encountered an addiction that costs money, and let you and your family in a difficult situation. If it makes you feel better, everyone has an addiction. either alcohol or gambling or sex or religion, people end with a crutch to help aa expenses. People even get addicted to support groups. If you're ready to deal at any cost, and you are in a position in which you understand your problem, you are well ahead of most. Good luck and hope things work for you and the next not so expensive.
